JAMMU, Oct 6: Non-Gazetted Employees Union (NGEU) of University of Jammu (JU) continued their two hours token strike in front of the administration block regarding their long pending demands.
The protesters claimed that JU authorities gave them fake assurances that some of the demands of NGEU have been finalized and orders in that regard also issued.
They said till date no demand has been fulfilled and also informed that they had also expressed anguish over the attitude adopted by JU authorities over their demands in a press conference.
Protesting employees further claimed that the authorities do not take keen interest to resolve their long pending demands.
Vijay Kumar, NGEU president asked the University authorities that if their demands are not conceded within a short period of time then their protest will go stronger with each passing day.
He urged upon the Chancellor and pro-Chancellor of JU to intervene in the matter and give suitable suggestions to JU authorities so that a congenial atmosphere is created in JU campus.
