JAMMU, Sept 3: Viklang Chhatra Trust (VCT) and Old Care Society have appealed to the President of India to introduce some provision for suitable nomination of representatives of Divyangs in each House of the Parliament and State Legislatures so that the voice of this section of the society can also be raised.
In a handout VCT Organiser, Satya Pal Saraf said, there is no representation of Divyangs in any of the Houses of Parliament or State Legislatures.
He informed that the population of Divyangs is 4.5 crore in the country and the politicians only use them as votes.
Saraf asked while representatives of various classes, communities, sports persons, social personalities, artists and others are accommodated in Parliament and State Legislatures why Divyangs are ignored.
