Srinagar, May 14: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that nobody should be allowed to disturb the brotherhood that exists among the different communities in Kashmir.
He said the decision to hoist the flag by some party in the city centre would lead to serious repercussions and one cannot rule out breach of law and order situation in the city.
“The proposed flag hoisting at Lal Chowk by a group namely Youth for Nation on May 16 is starting to become a concern for everyone living in the Valley. Some fascist forces are trying to provoke the locals despite the fact that there exists a peaceful atmosphere in Kashmir,” said Raina.
The APSCC Chairman said that such announcements and incidents lead to provocation thus impacting the overall social and cultural setup of the Kashmir valley. He said the reaction shown by ‘Sangbaaz’ group in response to the flag hoisting announcement has also not been welcomed by the people of Valley.
The APSCC Chairman said that every tourist who visits Kashmir enjoys the hospitality and carries a good message to rest of the world that there is nothing on ground. He said despite this there are certain forces that are hell bent to defame Kashmir and Kashmiris and project a negative image worldwide.
“We appeal all the people including those having allegiance to Youth for Nation to come and experience Kashmir, but not to disturb the age old Kashmiriyat. This peaceful land has been blessed by Guru Nanak Devji, Shankracharaya and several Sufi saints. Kashmiris including Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus and other communities should not react to such incitements as it would lead to wedge among them causing irreparable damage to Kashmiriyat,” said Raina.
