No ultra entered through Nepal: Govt

NEW DELHI, Aug 13:
No militant or Chinese agent entered India through the Indo-Nepal border though there was incursion from the Chinese side in other bordering areas due to absence of Line of Actual Control (LAC), the Lok Sabha was informed today.
In a written reply, Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran said there were no reports of any militant or Chinese agent entering India through the Indo-Nepal border during the past three years and the current year.
He said seizure of fake Indian currency notes from the border was indicative of the existence of smuggling the fake currency across the open and porous border.
On Chinese incursion into Indian territory, the Minister said there was no commonly delineated LAC between India and China.
“Due to different perceptions on LAC and both the sides patrolling upto their respective perceptions, transgressions do occur,” he said.
He said various mechanisms, including border personnel meetings  and flag meetings, had been established to address the issue.
Mr Ramachandran added that recent ceasefire violations by Pakistani Army were being taken up with their authorities. (UNI)
