SRINAGAR : There was no swine flu case in the Kashmir valley while three people, including two Army personnel, tested positive for the virus in Ladakh, a senior health officer said.
Director health, Kashmir, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman said a team of experts has been posted at Srinagar International Airport to detect any swine flu patient.
Refuting reports that about two dozen people suffering from swine flu have been admitted in S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), he said not a single case has been detected so far.
He said the health department has made all arrangements to meet any challenge of swing flu. But, he said, so far there was no report of anyone suffering from this disease. Dr Saleem said, ‘Since this is a tourist state, we have posted a team of expert doctors at the airport to keep a close watch on people from outside the state.’ He said he will talk to his counterpart in Jammu so that an expert is posted at Banihal Railway station. A team has also been posted on Leh-Manali road to detect such patients.
However, he said, three people suffering from swine flu, including two Army personnel, were detected in Leh. They are recovering, he said, adding that there is no need for panic as it is fully curable.
