JAMMU, May 5: Film maker and KP leader, Ashok Pandit today said that no resolution of Kashmir issue was possible without taking the Kashmir Pandits the aborigines of Valley with over 5000 year old cultural history into confidence.
Addressing a gathering of Kashmiri migrants at Jagti township near here, today,  he said Kashmir belongs to Pandits and no power on earth can deny them this right.
He said the mass migration of this great civilization of the world was a catastrophe and it is unfortunate that those ruling at Centre and State failed to provide protection to this miniscule minority in Valley whose hundreds of members including men, women and children were done to death by the terrorists backed by Pakistan.
Pandit while taking both State and Central governments to task said it is a shame that even after 26 years the government has failed to provide justice to the hapless community whose only sin was that they were patriotic Indians.
He said plight of Pandits is miserable and Government has failed to frame a concrete long term policy for their rehabilitation and settlement. Terming mass exodus of Pandits akin to genocide, he also reiterated the community demand that an inquiry Commission be established to probe the same and punish the forces which were responsible for the same.
Pandit, while asking the community members to remain united and fight for their rights with full might he said the homeland with Kashmir Valley as per the Margdarshan resolution of 1991 was the only solution to Pandits plight. He said the community stand on separate homeland was also vindicated with the recent protests and outburst of Hurriyat and other separatist leaders on the resettlement of the community in Valley. He said these statements and threats by separatists have created more apprehensions among the community members about their security on their return to Valley.
He said Congress or BJP can’t take the Pandits for granted and the both parties can’t ignore the role of the community in nation building. It is a  tragedy that the community which gave India two Prime Ministers is leading an exiled life for last 26 years and has been forced to live at the mercy of others, he added.
He said Government is talking of Pandits return but it has not bothered to consult the community in this regard. “Will Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Yasin Malik of Syed Slah-u-Din decide about our return that how to live and where to live”? he asked?
He said BJP Government is in office for  about one  year now and it has failed to convene a meeting with the community members. Pandit while assuring full support to the community in its struggle said that he will take up the demand for empowerment of KPs with the right thinking people all over the country.
He said the Narendra Modi Government should consult KPs and discuss the return module and other issues confronting the community with them and find out an everlasting solution to the problem.
He also stressed the community members to remain linked to their culture and language as Kashmiri is one of the oldest Indian languages having its origin in Sanskrit.
The programme was organized by Pinto Ji and among others O N Kaw , Desh Rattan, Roshan Lal Raina, Ravi Zuthsi, Ravinder Kumar, Bittu Ji and Raj Nath Dhar were present and they apprised the visiting film personality of the problems of the community.
