SRINAGAR, June 3: Government today said it had released funds worth Rs 26684.74 crore for macadamisation of roads during the last financial year under all sectors.
In a written reply to a question of Haji Abdul Rashid in Lower House, Minister Incharge said Government has released funds worth Rs. 26684 including Rs 1616.5 crore for WBM of all grades, wet mix worth Rs 399.77 crore and BM/SD worth Rs 1353 crore. “Rs. 11450 crore were released for cities and town, Rs. 3415 crore for tourist destinations, Rs. 1600 cr on CM directions and Rs 102180 cr for projectization,” the Minister said.
In a written reply to another question by Mubarak Gul in Lower House, Minister Incharge said no road has been macadamised yet under R&B sector during the current financial year in Kashmir Division. However, under PMGSY 2.50 Kms of Dandipora Herpora road has been macadamised in Kokernag Constituency.
The Minister stated that there is a plan to widen the Boulevard road from Dalgate onwards under CRF scheme.
The road from Jehangir Chowk to Soura via Safakadal is presently macadamised and has dual carriageway four lanes except in stretches at Shaheed Gunj, Dareshkadal and from Safakadal Bridge to Sekidafar Chowk because of land acquisition problem. Besides, removal of bottlenecks in stretch from Karanagar to Gole Market is under process of acquisition for which Rs. 200.0 lakh were released during the financial year 2015-16, the Minister further added.
