No project proposed under CRF, NABARD during 2016-17: Govt

SRINAGAR, June 2: Government today admitted that it has not sanctioned/ proposed any project under Central Road Fund (CRF) and NABARD till date unlike last financial year when it approved projects worth Rs. 35582.62 lakhs.
In a written reply to the question of MLA Rajiv Jasrotia in Lower House, the Minister Incharge said during current financial year, no project has been sanctioned under CRF and NABARD till date. “As regards Kathua Constituency, one project under CRF and two projects under NABARD worth Rs 4.00 crore stands sanctioned,” the Minister said.
In his supplementary, MLA Engineer Rasheed sought reasons for “double standards” in the implementation of these projects and why are some projects kept lingering and not given forest clearance.  On this, the Minister said that a committee has been constituted wherein these cases will be taken on fast track basis.
The Minister further stated that the Government has not proposed any road project for Udhampur and Kathua districts under Bharat Mala. However, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India has identified 4 roads with a total length of 235 kilometers in the State under Bharat Mala. “No scheme under development of militancy infested areas has been sanctioned in PW(R&B) Department,” added the Minister.
