JAMMU, Apr 15: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) strongly expressed its dismay at different mainstream political parties over non-inclusion of legitimate rehabilitation issue of DPs of 1947 from PoJK in their respective manifestos as well as in their speeches being delivered while addressing the public rallies organized by them in view of ensuing Parliamentary elections.
The participants asked the mainstream political parties that they are not honouring their commitment made on different occasions and have disrespected the sentiments of big chunk of DPs of 1947 living in Jammu region by not incorporating their legitimate issues of national interest in their respective manifestos.
While addressing the meeting of core committee member held at Jammu, Gurdev Singh president alongwith other senior leaders expressed his serious concern and said that since 1947 onwards the rehabilitation issued of DPs have remained unresolved till day despite of having been presented to all the political parties remained in power both in J&K and Centre on innumerable occasion. He said that DPs have supported all the political parties both in Parliamentary and Assembly elections as well since their displacement from their native places in PoJK in the hope that their rehabilitation issues would be resolved on humanitarian grounds but nothing happened as such.
He regretted that none of these main stream political parties reciprocated their faith posed in them but instead their aspirations were ignored and never apprised and impressed their leadership for the resolution of the issues. He said from the past two years JKSAC has been approaching all the high profile leadership of mainstream political parties to apprise their central leadership about the DPs issue for early redressal in the light of recommendations made by two Joint Parliamentary Committees Report no 62nd of 1980 and No. 183rd of 2014.
Singh said that we do not blame the Central high command leadership of these parties for not taking cognizance of the DPs issues as they have never been apprised by the J&K Government as well as Pradesh leadership in the right prospective. He said “had the J&K Government and collective leadership of these parties taken up the DP issues with the Central Government some positive outcome must have come out”.
