Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, June 17: Former MLC and  chief spokesperson of PCC  Ravinder Sharma has alleged that Govt has no policy for border migrants. He also demanded probe into selections made by Public Service Commission (PSC).
Sharma who conducted  two days’ tour of Sunderbani-Nowshera area,  took stock of the problems of the people. He interacted with the people of different sections of the society besides party workers and others from the border areas who are facing great hardships due to Pak shelling and large number of people are staying in migrant camps.
He expressed shock over the loss of lives and injuries to the jawans in Nowshera sector and saluted the martyrs and their families.
Ex-MLC regretted that Govt has no clear policy towards the border migrants as they are facing the brunt of the increased hostility of Pakistan during past three years. The Govt has failed to frame policy to provide monthly financial aid to the migrants as was the policy for them during Kargil conflict. Their genuine demand of plots in safe zones, besides special recruitment drive and quota has no one to heed.
Sharma expressed grave concern over the poor governance and failure to fulfill the basic necessities to people as people are deprived of ration, K. Oil etc. and great deal of hike in rates of atta, rice and sugar.  He said the development activities are at slow pace and most of genuine works and roads are neglected.
Meanwhile, commenting on the messy affairs of JK Public Service Commission (PSC), Sharma said that the unfortunate developments  are  quite disturbing and matter of great concern for all right thinking citizens especially the youth who are  genuinely  agitated because of the atmosphere of alleged bias and irregularities which have surfaced and nothing short of a CBI enquiry or high level independent probe would bring out the entire truth in these affairs.
PCC chief spokesman said  the series of startling disclosures in the media have greatly impacted the credibility of the institution besides cause lot of resentment   and mistrust amongst the youth on the recruitment agency. The Commission can’t be allowed to play with career of deserving and meritorious youth who put in their hard labour to aspire to get a respectable job based on merit and capability. The Commission was already, in the eye of storm due to series of selection lists which apparently reflected regional imbalance and bias, besides certain other irregularities.
