JAMMU, Nov 13: All J&K Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) president, Anil Sharma has cleared that AJKPC has not merged with J&K Apni Party (JKAP).
In a press conference here today Sharma said that AJKPC will continue its activities and there is no question of merging it in any political party.
He informed that Shafiq Mir has joined JKAP in his individual capacity but AJKPC as an organization has nothing to do with that.
Sharma said that AJKPC is a legally registered body having own constitution and charter and it also owns trademark rights over the title and no person is allowed to infringe the legal right of the organization and whosoever found indulged in violation of this right might have to face legal consequences including civil suit and criminal prosecution.
Sharma said that it is unfortunate that Altaf Bukhari, JKAP chief was misled and misinformed by Shafiq Mir who without any authority claimed merging of AJKPC in Apni Party.
The AJKPC president said, “Having highest regards for senior political leader Altaf Bukhari, I request him to be careful from individuals who misrepresent facts for petty gains”.
Anil Sharma also made it clear that Shafiq Mir has no right whatsoever to use the name and title of the AJKPC and as on date Anil Sharma is the only bonafide and legally elected president of AJKPC.
He also hinted at legal action against anyone found indulged in using title of their organization without prior permission and authorization.
Sharma said AJKPC is an organization of elected Panchayat representatives having people from all political ideologies and is not associated with any political party.
He also said that Shafiq Mir has no relationship directly or indirectly with AJKPC and he is advised not to use the name and title of the organization henceforth.
Sharma informed that their organization is actively participating in upcoming DDC elections and are sure this would strengthen the grass root level democracy.
