SRINAGAR, June 15: “Government today said there was no Cabinet decision regarding the engagement of private dealers in Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Department.
In a written reply to a question of MLA Altaf Ahmad Wani in Lower House, Minister Incharge CA&PD Department stated that there was no Cabinet decision regarding the engagement of private dealers in CA&PD.
“However, department was authorized to open 7697 departmental sales outlet in replacement of the existing fair price shops and engaging 7697 helpers on casual basis has been stayed by the High Court in the case entitled Sandeep Singh V/s State and other,” he said.
