No dearth of employment for skilled youth : Anurag Thakur

HAMIRPUR (HP), June 21: Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur said today that there was no dearth of employment opportunities for the skilled youth and the government is giving special emphasis on skill development of the youth.
Addressing the youth at Vodafone Idea Foundation’s Skill Development Center program on Tuesday, Anurag Singh Thakur said that better career options were available to the skilled youth in any field and they can live life by working with hard work and honesty.
The Union Minister said that the youth should not limit themselves only to certificates and degrees. They should constantly upgrade and update their skills with time. This will not only provide them better employment opportunities, but they can also become successful entrepreneurs and give employment to other people.
Thakur said that the Central Government encourage youth and new entrepreneurs by providing them easy loans through Mudra Yojana. This is the reason that, despite the Corona crisis, most startups have come up in India. During this crisis, 50 new companies of the country have got the status of startup unicorns.
While appreciating the work of Vodafone Idea Foundation towards skill development of the youth, Thakur said that training related to retail sector and IT sector was being provided to the youth through the skill development center of the foundation, which helped them getting better employment.
Out of 51 trained youth so far in this center, 29 youths have got employment in big companies. These include foreign companies as well. On this occasion, the Union Minister also provided job offer letters to the youth trained from the Skill Development Center.
The Union Minister also flagged off the Digital and Financial Literacy Awareness Vehicle. This vehicle of Vodafone Idea Foundation will make people aware about digital transactions, financial literacy and financial management in district Hamirpur.
Anurag Singh Thakur said that this vehicle will play an important role in realizing the dream of Digital India of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With this, the residents of the district will adopt a digital system in their normal routine and will avoid any kind of financial fraud. Earlier, Vodafone Idea Foundation Head P. Balaji welcomed Anurag Singh Thakur and briefed about the activities of the Foundation. (UNI)
