No COVID case reported in J&K

JAMMU/SRINGAR/LEH, Apr 11: Jammu and Kashmir today didn’t report any COVID positive case while the UT of Ladakh recorded two fresh cases.
All 20 districts in J&K didn’t report a single COVID positive case today.
Significantly, Jammu region now has just one active positive case which is in Jammu district. Rest all nine districts of the region are Corona-free.
Ladakh reported two fresh COVID positive cases, both in Leh district.
Ladakh now has 10 active positive cases—eight in Leh district and two in Kargil.
Meanwhile, after 24 students tested positive for COVID-19 earlier, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar in collaboration with DHSK today, as per the COVID protocol, conducted mass testing for all employees and students during which no positive case was detected.
In-charge-Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. MF Wani said that in view of Covid19 cases reported, a special testing drive was held for students and employees.
“We ensure that all COVID-19 precautionary measures should be adhered to,” he said.
Institute’s Registrar Prof. Bukhari appreciated the joint efforts put by DHSK, district administration, local police, and volunteers.
“During the testing drive, no positive case was reported by the joint health teams on the campus, while students who were recently infected have been isolated till their RT-PCR test results arrive,” he said.
Medical Officer, Dr Fayaz Ahmad Bhat said a total of 442 tests were jointly carried out by the medical teams Medical Unit NIT Srinagar, DHSK, and Sub-District Hospital Habak.
He said 399 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were carried out by joint health teams in which no student or employee was found infected.
“While 43 RT-PCR tests were administered, including those 26 students who were recently detected positive. The results would arrive on Wednesday and till then they have been isolated as a precautionary measure,” he said.
