NNK stages Dogri play ‘Macbeth: The Crown of Blood’

JAMMU, Dec 30: Natraj Natya Kunj (NNK) Cultural Society here today staged Dogri adaptation of William Shakespeare’s tragedy play ‘Macbeth: The Crown of Blood’.
Supported by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, the play is a story of Macbeth—a courageous Scottish general not naturally inclined to commit evil deeds but kills the king against his better judgment and afterward stews in guilt and paranoia.
Toward the end of the play he descends into a kind of frantic and boastful madness. The problem, the play suggests, is that once one decides to use violence to further one’s quest for power, it is difficult to stop.
In the end President of Natraj Natya Kunj, Kumar A. Bharti thanked Sangeet Natak Akademi for extending support to perform this play which is open to performers from different backgrounds and creative genres.
Actors who participated in the play were Lalit Sharma, Karan Mehra, Akshay Razdan, Aman Sharma, Mukesh Bakshi, Niharika Sakshi, Kanav Sharma, Karan, Anshika Sharma and Hema Shivgotra.
Production was managed by Lalit Sharma, assisted by Akshay Razdan and designed by Kumar A. Bharti, make-up was done by Shammi Dhamir, sets and property was managed by Anshika, Hema and Priya Sharma, costumes were done by Niharika Sakshi, Stage Managers were Manik and Rahul, Associate Director & Lights Manager was Aditya Bharti, Music and Direction was done by Abhishek Bharti.
