NMC meet discusses demands

Jammu, Apr 3: Extending full support to the popular Government in the State, president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri said that installation of people Government in a democratic set up is always a welcome development.
Addressing a well attended NMC workers meet here, Shastri hoped that under the able leadership of Mehbooba Mufti as head of the Government, a new era of development and peace will again usher in the State. He pinned more hopes on Mehbooba Mufti who is pro-poor and pro- working class and is well versed with the grass root issues.
While appreciating the exceptional administrative skills of the Governor, NN Vohra, he said that he has run the affairs of the State in an outstanding manner during his brief three months spell.
Shastri was immensely hopeful that regularization issue of sixty one thousand daily rated workers, which is hanging in fire the last twenty one years and for which much spade work has already been done by previous PDP-BJP Government, will be addressed on top priority and all daily rated workers are regularized in one go. He further requested the new Government to release two pending installments of DA to its employees as first charge as the Central Government has already released the same.
“Several resolutions were adopted in the meet including release of all pending dues of daily rated workers”. ‘Besides, sanctioning twelve per cent DA due from July last and January this year in favor of the employees and pensioners and enhancing medical allowances to Rs.1,000 per month and increasing wages of daily rated workers to rupees ten thousand per month were also included in the resolution’.
Among others in the meeting were Rajan Babu Khajuria, B S Jamwal, Sunil Kochhar, Darshan Bawa, Surinder Kumar, Bopinder Singh, Mohan Lal, Swaran Bhagat, Vijay Bhagat, Sukhdev Singh, Paramjit (Com Barkat Ram), Tarseem, Sudesh Bhagat and others.
