JAMMU, May 22: National Mazdoor Conference today demanded regularisation of all casual and seasonal labourers, who have been engaged in various departments of the J&K Gover-nment after March, 1994.
“The State Cabinet, which is going to meet on May 28 should pave way for regularisation of all casual and seasonal labourers who have been engaged in various departments of the State Government after March 1994”, NMC chief Subash Shastri told reporters here.
Shastri claimed the services of the labour class has not been regularised for the last 15 to 20 years and they are not getting their wages in time.
While expressing grave concern over the inordinate delay in releasing of 10 per cent DA and fourth installment of the 6th Pay Commission arrears, Shastri demanded an early release of these installments to neutralise the affect of inflation and price rise. He also sought removal of all pay anomalies without any further delay.
The other demands, including issuance of regularisation orders of 180 daily wagers working in Rural Development Department (RDD), enhancing medical allowance to Rs 1,000 per month and monthly wages of the working class should be increased to Rs 10,000 per month, he said. (PTI)
