NMC demands pay, pension anomaly removal

JAMMU, Dec 8: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has demanded removal of pay and pension anomalies in the lower grade staff of both Central and UT Government services and pensioners.
NMC president, Subash Shastri while addressing NMC workers meeting here on Sunday urged the Prime Minister, Union Finance Minister and Minister of State for Finance to accept recommendations of Ashok Lavasa Committee in this regard.
“The Committee has already submitted its report to the central Government more than two years ago, recommending minimum pay scale and pension to Rs. 21,000 beside removal of all pay anomalies in respect of lower grade staff of Central Government and UT employees and pensioners,” he said.
He hoped that Central Government will accept the recommendations of the committee and a decision in this regard will be taken in the next meeting of union cabinet.
Shastri pointed out that recommendations of the 7th pay commission have not benefited the lower class of Central Government and pensioners.
Shastri also demanded enhancing of medical allowance of employees and pensioners of J&K UT from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 per month.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Gara Ram, Suraj Parkash, Darshan Baba, Madan Lal Bhagat, Sukhdev Singh, Mushtaq Ahmed, Lal Singh, J.P Sharma and others were also present in the meeting.
