NMC demands fast track regularisation of daily rated workers

JAMMU, Mar 13: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has expressed concern over the slow process of regularization of thousands of daily rated workers working in various Government departments for years.
In a meeting of NMC workers chaired by their president, Subash Shastri here today. Shastri appealed to the Governor administration in J&K to amend SRO 520 meant for regularisation of daily rated workers.
The NMC leader further said that there is a need to undertake the regularisation process on fast track basis.
He also urged the Governor administration to immediately provide funds to enable the respective departments to pay the long pending wages of all daily rated workers.
Several resolution were passed in the meeting which included setting up of Labour Welfare Board, release of 7th Pay Commission arrears in one go in favour of pensioners, enhancing medical allowance to Rs. 1000 to State pensioners and enhancing wages of daily rated workers to Rs. 500 etc.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Ram Singh, Darshan Baba, Vikas Sharma, Surinder Kumar and others.
