Srinagar, Aug 5: The Nigeen Lake Conservation Organization (NLCO) today announced significant progress towards its set goal in “Mission Ehsaas Phase-3”, as a large portion of Khushal Sar now displays a pristine view.
However, NLCO emphasized the urgency of prompt action to remove and properly dispose of accumulated debris, muck, and weeds from the site to achieve effective conservation.
In a statement, NLCO reaffirmed its commitment to revitalizing and preserving the Khushal Sar water body as part of Mission Ehsaas Phase-3, expressing pride in the remarkable transformation the area has undergone, restoring its pristine state.
NLCO President, Manzoor Ahmad Wangoo, stressed the importance of disposing of accumulated debris and muck, which currently poses challenges for residents in their daily commutes. “Urgent action is required to address the situation effectively,” he said.
The organization has called for the installation of another cleaning machine from the government at the site, which would play a crucial role in rejuvenating both the Gilsar and Khushal Sar lakes, restoring them to their former glory.
Wangoo expressed optimism that concerned departments will act swiftly in removing debris and muck, enabling the accomplishment of broader conservation objectives, and extending gratitude to the Divisional Administration, SMC, LCMA and other stakeholders for their cooperation and support throughout the endeavour.
