Srinagar, Aug 27: New Kashmir Fruit Association (NKFA), Parimpora today elected the Office Bearers as well as the Working Body of the association for which the elections were held on Wednesday.
Bashir Ahmad Basheer was elected as the President of the Association for the 6th consecutive time, while as Anil Kumar has been elected as the Vice-President and Muhammad Ayoub Bhat as General Secretary.
NKFA said that the General Election of Officer Bearers/ Working Body Members of the New Kashmir Fruit Association, Fruit Marketing Complex, Parimpora was held on August 26, 2020, and the process of casting votes was fixed from 10 am to 2 pm which was later extended up to 3 pm on the request of the members.
Around 85 per cent of the member cast their votes and elected 16 people for working body as well as the office-bearers.
Apart from the President, Vice President and General Secretary, those elected include Ch. Muhammad Shahid, Joint Secretary, Abdul Majeed Reshi, Member Accountant, Muhammad Yaseen Bhat, Chairman Trade Settlement Committee, Ghulam Ahmad Dar, Chairman Transport Committee. Those who have been elected as Working Body Members include Omar Jan, Bashir Ahmad Shah, Raja Zahoor Ahmad Khan, Abdul Hamid Dar, Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Farooq Ahmad Rather, Ghulam Nabi Katoo, Mohd Ishfaq Dar, Ashfaq Ahmad Jalla.
The oath ceremony of the newly constituted body has been scheduled to be held on September 2 at 2 pm in the central all of the NKFA.
