NIT row: AAP demands quashing of cases against students

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 10: Condemning the police lathicharge on the innocent students of NIT Srinagar, the State unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today demanded quashing of all cases against the students.
While addressing a press conference here today, Vipul Bali, local AAP leader, said that the police action against the students of NIT Srinagar, clearly exposes the double standards of BJP, as they beat the students who chant pro-India slogans in Srinagar while they do exactly opposite in the rest of the country.
He further said that in one of the recent decisions led by Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani, it was made compulsory to hoist the National Flag everyday in each and every educational institute of the country, but when the students of NIT Srinagar tried to do the same, they were beaten very harshly and made prisoners inside the campus.
He demanded that all the cases against the students of NIT Srinagar be quashed, police officers involved in the attack be suspended, action taken against the officials or Ministers who authorized the lathicharge.
