Nirvana Academy presents Dogri play ‘Rakt Daan Maha Daan’

JAMMU, June 13: To mark World Blood Donor’s Day and to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Karl Landsteiner, the founder of “ABO” Blood grouping system, Nirvana Academy and Federation of Indian Blood Donors’ Organisations (FIBDO) today presented a short Dogri play “Rakt Daan Maha Daan”.
Written and directed by Tarun Sharma, the play opens with Paramjeet Kour, a rich lady who always believed in the power of money was asked one day to donate blood for a cause but she refused saying that she has lot of money and she can purchase blood with money whenever she required.
Once Paramjeet got a call and came to know that her brother got injured in an accident and urgently need blood. Since her blood group did not match with the blood group of her brother, she requested an old man to donate blood to save her brother’s life, who refused to do so citing his old age but assured her that he will help her to ask people to donate blood.
The, duo went to Sameer a modern city boy and asked him to donate blood, who also refused saying he had a fear in donating blood. He offered money to Paramjeet and asked her to purchase blood for her brother.
Paramjeet got tears in her eyes and then realized the importance of donating blood. The play ends with the old man appealing the people to became blood donor and donate blood time to time to save human lives.
The artists who performed in the play were Tarun Sharma, Paramjeet Kour, Sameer Bhati, Sourav Sharma, Nikhil Sharma and Rahul Sharma.
