Nine injured in separate road accidents

JAMMU, Aug 22: Nine people were injured today in separate road mishaps in the city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, four people were injured this afternoon when a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration No JK02AU-3195 collided with a Xylo car bearing registration No JK13B-8700 near Nandini. The injured have been identified as driver of Mahindra vehicle, Raj Kumar (30) son of Shiv Ram, a resident of Dansal, driver of Xylo car, Bhupinder Singh (32) son of Karan Singh, a resident of Tral (Srinagar) and two passengers of Mahindra vehicle namely Satyender (48) and Ghar Singh (28).
Two youths were injured here in Kacchi Chawani area when the bike they were going on, was hit by a mini-bus. The injured have been identified as Varun (20) son of Rakesh Slathia and Susheel (20) son of Ravi, both residents of Panjtirthi.
In another mishap, two bike-borne youth were injured when their two-wheeler got slipped here in Bakshi Nagar area. The injured have been identified as Ashu (26) son of Mahraj Kishan Butt and Vikas (30) son of Susheel Choudhary, both residents of Muthi.
A pedestrian identified as Dheeraj Singh (72) son of Balwant Singh, a resident of Nanak Nagar, Jammu, also got injured, when an unknown car hit him while crossing a road near Marble Market, Trikuta Nagar.
A 30-year-old youth identified as Joginder Kumar (30) son of Girdhari Lal, a resident of Batehra, also suffered injuries when the bike he was riding on, got slipped at Patoli area of city outskirts.
All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment. In all cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
