JAMMU, July 26: Nagrota police today rescued nine bovines from the clutches of a smuggler.
During naka checking at Sidhra this evening, officials of police post Sidhra intercepted a Tata Mobile load carrier bearing registration number JK11E-0522 and on checking found nine bovine animals loaded mercilessly in the vehicle.
The bovines were rescued while the vehicle was seized and its driver namely Irshad Ahmed son of Mohd Asim, resident of Majalta, was arrested by the police.
In this connection, a case was registered in police station Nagrota and further investigation started.
