JAMMU, Dec 21: Nagrota Police has foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued nine bovine animals.
“During naka checking at Tawi Bridge, a team of Police Post Sidhra rescued nine bovine animals from a vehicle bearing Registration Number JK02AP-9107,” a Police spokesman said, adding, two suspected smugglers were also arrested from the vehicle.
He said the accused were identified as Nazir Ahmed son of Mohd Munshi of Gole Gujral (Jammu) and Mukesh Kumar son of Darshan Kumar of Miran Sahib (Jammu). “In this regard, a case FIR Number 428/2022 U/S 188/IPC 11PCA, 50, 54, 56 Transport of Animal Rules was registered at Police Station Nagrota,” he said, adding, further investigation of the case was going on.
