JAMMU, June 5: NIFD-shaping the future designers organised convocation for the 25th graduating batch at NIFD Campus, here today.
The NIFD is an institute that has completed its journey of 25 years, graduating the students in the field of creativity, whether it be in fashion, interior, textile or art and craft.
Former Centre Managers of NIFD including Dr Bhushan Sharma, Pawan Reen, Gunjan Kohli and Mamta Jeena were among the chief guests who graced the event in presence of the other dignitaries including Advocate Yashodhan Thakur and Dr Shavika Gupta.
The programme commenced with the lighting of lamps, followed by the Ganesha Pranam and a group dance staged by the students. During the event, the students showcased their costumes in two rounds including ‘Hand Crafted with Love’ and ‘Summer Day Out’ on the ramp.
The highlight of the program was the presentation ceremony of degrees and diplomas to the graduating batch of Fashion Designing, Interior Designing and Art and Craft students.

Vanita Thakur, chairperson and founder of NIFD along with Aishwarya Thakur Secretary NIFD Society congratulated all the students and wished them all the best for the future, as they were now entering and stepping forward into the professional world.
She also announced that seven students from this batch have already been got placement and these students are Shubhkriti Sharma, Dimpy Guleria, Kanika Virdi, Ravina Rajput, Shayista Sajad, Sonali Sharma, Mahima Grover, out which two are working in Government sectors.
Sheetal Sharma, Centre Manager presented a vote of thanks and emphasised on the various courses that have been added to the current curriculum as Beauty and Grooming, Digital Fashion Illustration, Fashion Styling and even Basohli painting.
