BHADERWAH, June 26: Deputy CLP leader Mohd Sharief Niaz today appealed to the State Government to provide compensation to earthquake victims of Doda and Kishtwar districts who have not been paid single penny since one and half years.
Niaz said a major earthquake occurred on January 2013 in which several houses, shops and hotels were damaged. State administration and Central agencies, Union Minister, State Ministers and MLA visited the area and assessment of damaged property were prepared. Some population were paid relief and others were denied till date, Niaz added.
Niaz said that administration was again demanding resurvey of loss from the people which was already prepared by the administration and central agencies. The people repaired their houses and shops themselves by taking loans etc and since January 2013 fortyfive earthquakes have occurred in these areas. He said that compensation should be given to all as per last survey report.
