NIA court grants 15-days judicial remand of militants

JAMMU, Oct 7: Special Judge NIA J&K, Kishore Kumar today granted 15 days judicial remand of Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed, both the residents of Muzaffarabad, who were arrested by the NIA in Uri attack case.
NIA team produced Faisal Hussain Awan, son of Gul Akbar and Ahsan Khursheed, son of Chaudhary Khursheed, both the residents of Muzaffarabad (PoK) before the NIA court seeking police remand.
Court after perusal of the CD file observed, “accused have been arrested in case RC-14/2016/NIA/DLI of PS NIA, New Delhi for offences under Sections 302, 307, 124 (A) and 120-B, 121, 121-A of RPC and Section 7/27 Arms Act and 15/16 and 18 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967”, adding “the accused are members of terrorist organization JeM based in Pakistan and both of them were working for this organization to wage war against India”.
“Investigation of the case is at its initial stage and their custodial interrogation is needed to unearth the larger conspiracy against the nation hatched by the terrorist outfit and other over ground supporters”, court said.
Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case, stage of the investigation and the nature of offences the NIA application was allowed and accused were remanded to judicial custody for a period of 15 days from today.
