NHM employees seek extension of contract by one year

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct 6: Expressing dissatisfaction over mere 3-month extension of their contract, a section of NHM employees today demanded the Government to extend their contract by at least one year.
Addressing a press conference here today, Rani Begum, a representative of Nursing Orderlies (NOs) engaged by Tiranga Security under NHM, said that they are not satisfied with extension of their contract by 3 months. She demanded that all the NOs and other staff engaged under NHM during peak of Coronavirus Pandemic be given extension of at least one year or till the regular posts are not advertized by SSB.
Rani said that the Government is exercising a “use and throw” policy with NHM employees. They said that on one hand Government is giving slogans of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ and on the other hand they are snatching jobs of these educated ‘Beties’ and forcing them to come on roads for their rights.
She urged the Government to do justice with once called ‘Corona Warriors” who without thinking about them and their families, served the public with full dedication during COVID-19.
