RAJOURI, Sept 23: The employees of National Health Mission (NHM) which met here today under the banner of the district body of J&K NHM Employees’ Association (NHMEA) stressed upon the Governm-ent to regularize their services.
A large number of NHM employees including doctors, paramedical staff and management staff attended the meeting which was organized here at Children Park under the chairmanship of NHMEA provincial president, Rohit Seth.
While speaking on the occasion, Rohit Seth said that Government has assured the union of regularization of services of NHM employees, but nothing was done in this regard. He said that NHM employees have completed more than nine years of contractual service and most of them have crossed the upper age limit.
He said that NHM employees work round the clock in health institutions to provide better health care facilities to general public but despite Supreme Court verdict to provide equal pay for equal work, they are being paid meager wages and denied right of regularization and implementation of SRO 255.
Seth emphasized the district body to strengthen the union and urged the body members for maximum participation in future protests and strikes if Government fails to constitute a policy for their regularization.
