The protest was held near Press Club, Jammu during which the youth raised slogans in support of their demand. The protestors said that they had put their lives at risk when COVID-19 hit the country. “We were deputed to several GMCs and district hospitals at the peak of the COVID-19 when no one wanted to leave their homes.
“We were promised that our services will be regularized if we serve during the COVID period but in the month of September 2021, we were handed over termination letters. Later, we were assured adjustment on vacant posts in various health institutions but only few of us were adjusted on posts of NOs,” said a protesting youth.
He said that Government should advertise vacant posts in all the health institutions including medical colleges and adjusted all those on priority who were terminated after giving their valuable services during Covid times.
