RANCHI, Oct 25: The Jharkhand High Court today fixed October 30th as the next date of hearing former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav bail plea in the Fodder scam.
After hearing the arguments of the CBI and Mr Yadav’s lawyer, the single bench of Justice R R Prasad fixed October 30 as the next date of hearing.
He also asked the CBI to file a ‘counter’ in this regard.
On October 18, Justice Prasad had asked for presentation of lower court records in this regard which were yesterday provided to the High Court.
On September 30, the special CBI court had convicted Lalu Prasad Yadav and 44 others in fodder scam case number RC 28/96 related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 37.70 crore from Chaibasa treasury in the 90s.
Earlier, the court had awarded five years RI and had imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh on Mr Yadav for his involvement in the case. (UNI)
