JAMMU, June 14: A newly married housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her rented accommodation in Shankar Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Narwal police post.
As per police sources, a three months pregnant housewife namely Raj Kumari (21), wife of Hemant Kumar, of Chattisgarh, presently residing in Shankar Nagar, Narwal allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with ceiling fan at her residence.
Finding her hanging, family members informed the police and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where after conducting postmortem, it was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Narwal police post and investigation started.
The woman was pregnant with three months and was having some odd relations with her husband for the past few days, which might be the reason behind such extreme step but could be ascertained after investigation completes.
