SRINAGAR, Dec 11: A newly engaged couple which was missing from their home from South Kashmir was found dead in a gorge near Pahalgam on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said the deceased Sabia Parveen daughter of Ali Mohammad Mir of Kadipora, Anantnag, and Irshad Ahmed Darzee, son of Kaka Darzee, of Nathipora, Dooru in Anantnag had gone to Pahalgam for outing on Sunday after they recently got engaged.
However, when they didn’t return home on Sunday evening, their parents became worried and informed police about their disappearance.
“After investigations and search operations, the police found their bodies lying in a gorge on Aru road,” the spokesman said.
He said their car skidded off the road and rolled down nearly 700 ft into a deep gorge near Lidder river which caused their death.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when a Tavera JK18-5699 hit them at Yaripora bridge. Both the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
In another accident, a Santro car JK02L-5056 collided with a Swift car OR02BK/1422 near Karpora, resulting in injuries to the driver of the Swift car Ashok Kumar resident of Durga Nag Srinagar. The injured was shifted to SMHS, Hospital for treatment.
A Maruti car bearing registration number JK04-8542 hit a Policeman Mohammad Maqbool near bypass Parimpora. The injured was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
An unknown vehicle hit a woman identified as Sara Begum wife of Mohammad Ismail of Badigam-Nagba. She was shifted to Hospital for treatment. Yaripora
The spokesman said police has filed cases in these accidents.
