Reports said that boundary wall of the college which was constructed about one year back by the R&B authorities collapsed due to rains during early hours today. A large water pool was created there and the rain water entered two Labs, staff and Principal’s room besides several classes. The water level was about 2 to 2.5 ft in some rooms. Some computers were also damaged due to water. The College staff alleged that due to substandard work executed by the agency this wall has collapsed. The college could not function due to water pool in the compound and in rooms.
Meanwhile, the flooded drain water in the main market of Mendhar town entered many shops during early hours and caused extensive damage to the goods of the traders. There was strong resentment among the traders against RDD/BDO office staff for not clearing drains in the town before onset of rainy season.
