JAMMU, Aug 17: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla said that Government is committed to transform the socio-economic condition of the people, adding that for the purpose numerous developmental projects and welfare schemes have been launched across the state.
This was stated by Minister while interacting with the residents of Shastri Nagar W. No. 22, Valmiki Colony, W No. 20, Lower Gaddigarh and Desmesh Nagar W No. 58 in Digiana during public grievances redressal camps, here today.
Mr. Bhalla called upon the people to come forward and take maximum benefit of welfare schemes for their economic development. He urged them to protect public property in their respective colonies. He said that massive developmental activities have been launched to provide all basic amenities to the people, including better road connectivity, adequate drinking water, electricity, education, health besides better lanes and drains. He appealed the people to extend their full cooperation to the executing agencies for timely completion of ongoing projects.
The Minister said that the Government has taken up various projects for the improvement of infrastructure in urban areas which include widening of roads and provision of other facilities.
Mr. Bhalla impressed upon the concerned executing agencies to redouble their efforts and accelerate the pace of ongoing projects for timely completion by using quality material.
The Minister urged upon the Government functionaries to reach out to people and solve their problems without any delay. He said that the Government was making all out efforts to redress all the development related problems of the people. He asked them to make regular visits to the areas under their jurisdiction and come to the expectations of the general masses. He also called upon the people to personally monitor the ongoing development works and the quality of material being used.
Earlier, Mr. Bhalla also flagged off Annual Mata Chandi Yatra from Indira Chowk to the Shia Dhar (Chandi Top) in Bharat Doda.
More than 5000 devotees from Jammu, Doda, Bharat, Dessa, Bhagwah and other adjoining areas participated in the yatra and would seek blessings of the Mata Chandi in Machail village in Doda district.
