JAMMU : A fresh batch of 1,837 pilgrims today left for the holy Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas from Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar base camp in this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
“A batch, comprising 1,386 males, 389 females, 12 children and 50 sadhus left for the Amarnath cave shrine in a convoy of 65 vehicles including 40 private and SRTC buses and 25 light motor vehicles,” an official spokesperson here said.
He said that the first bus left at around 0440 hrs and the last at 0500 hrs.
The yatra is smoothly proceeding towards Srinagar on the highway, the spokesperson added.
