Nepal SC issues short-term interim order against dissolving student unions

KATHMANDU,  May 11 : Nepal’s Supreme Court on Monday issued a short-term interim order directing authorities not to implement a decision to dissolve student unions in universities.
The ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party, in its commitment paper, had promised to scrap political party-based students’ unions.
A single bench of Justice Shrikant Paudel ordered the concerned authorities not to enforce the decision made by the University Coordination Committee on April 3, according to the court officials.
