JAMMU, May 8: Vice Chancellor, Vishwakarma University, Gurugram Haryana , Raj Nehru today while throwing light on significance of Gaytri Mantra said besides, recitation of Mantra one should know the purpose and meaning of its each and every word and for what purpose it was created.
Speaking as chief guest at a function organised by Pt. Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan at K K Resorts Bohri this evening, he said that understanding for what purpose the Gaytri Mantra was created is must.
The function was chaired by BJP general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul while former VC, Central University Prayag Raj (Allahbad), Dr Rattan Lal Hangloo was guest of honour.
Raj Nehru, while terming the Vijeshwar Panchang as central point of connecting Kashmiri Pandits across globe, he said it has connected the exiled community putting up in different countries across world.
He, while referring to Sezar (simplicity), Pazar (truthfulness) and Shrochar (purity) said these are the basic pillars of Kashmiri Pandit culture. He assured all support and help to Shodh Sansthan from the Vishwakarma University in its research work on Kashmiri culture, Language or Sharda script and said the University is ready to be partner with the Sansthan in this research.
Nehru also stressed on making entire process of Panchang digital so that its reach will go far away.
Prof Rattan Lal Hangloo in his address stressed on strengthening the institution of Vijeshwar Panchang which has done tremendous service to preservation and enriching of ancient Kashmiri Hindu culture for centuries together.
Terming the Vijeshwar Panchang as identity reference point of Kashmiri Pandits, Prof Hangloo said the contribution of Jyotshi dynasty of Bijbehara is immense. He said had Pt. Prem Nath Shastri not published the Jyantri after migration in Jammu, the Kashmiri Pandits would have been delinked from the roots of their culture and traditions.
He termed Pt Prem Nath Shastri as icon of the society and doyen of Kashmiri culture and civilization. Prof Hangloo said the importance of the Jayantri and Nakhetra has increased among the foreigners also as they consult it for undertaking every new assignment.
Ashok Koul BJP general secretary (Org) also acknowledged the contribution of Jyotshi Parivar and Pt. Prem Nath Shastri . While referring to two books released on the occasion said that they are of immense importance as they continued vital articles on Shaivism and dharma which everyone in society should read.
He said that it was the Panchag culture which tied the displaced Pandit community scattered all over the world in one chord.
Earlier Pt. Omkar Nath Shastri chairman of the Sansthan highlighted the contribution of Jyotshi Parivar and role of Sansthan.
On the occasion, two books Parkash magazine and Hamarey Sanskriti Key Mool Saroop and a film on the life of Pt Prem Nath Shastri was released.
The film was made by Athrot led by Kamal Peshin in collaboration with Sansthan. On the occasion Sansthan honoured Raj Nehru, Prof Hangloo and Ashok Koul. The function was also attended by Pt Bushan Lal Shastri, Avtar Krishan Shastri, BJP leaders, Tilak Raj Gupta and Pardeep Sharma.
