Need to make Urdu popular in world: Modi

NEW DELHI: Wishing for the success of the sixth world Urdu Conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed hope that the conference will come up with important suggestions to make Urdu language popular across the globe.

In his message to the World Urdu Conference which is being organised by the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) here from March 18-20, Mr Modi said efforts to preserve and encourage Urdu language at world class are commendable.

He said that the language can be made more popular through the digital medium.

“I am confident that linguists and experts attending the Sixth World Urdu Conference will give practical suggestions that will help make Urdu popular in the world,” the PM said.

This conference will be attended by 15 countries but Pakistan has not been invited in the conference. (AGENCIES)
