Need to increase participation of women in judiciary: President

PRAYAGRAJ, Sept 11: President Ram Nath Kovind has stressed the need to increase the participation of women in the judiciary and said it is the fundamental right of all citizens to get justice.
“Women have maximum understanding of justice. They have the highest tendency to give justice to all. A woman coordinates with their in-laws, her own parents, husband and son together which proves their capability, ” he said on Saturday.
President said now roads have been cleared for the first woman CJI in the country.
Laying the foundation stone for Uttar Pradesh Law University and couple of projects of the Allahabad High court including a 12-storied lawyer chambers, and parking here on Saturday, President said the land of Prayag has been recognized as a center of education.
He said that access to justice should be ensured to all.
” May everyone get justice in a easy way Women, weaker sections should get justice easily,” he said. He added, “the enthusiasm for the judiciary should be increased among the general public. The cases should be disposed off fast by increasing the number of judges. Besides adequate resources should be provided to the judiciary,”
The President said on this day 128 years ago in Chicago, Swami Vivekananda praised India’s glorious tradition. Swami ji has condemned all kinds of oppression, he said.
“Had the world community fully accepted the message of tolerance of Swami Vivekananda’s ‘9/11’ in the year 1893, then perhaps the horrific anti-humanitarian crime of ‘9/11′ of 2001 in America would not have happened,” he said.
Mr Kovind said that the Allahabad High Court is the fourth established High Court of the country. It is responsible for providing justice.
“The tradition here was associated with great people like Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya, TB Sapru, Motilal Nehru, Purushottam Das Tandon, who wrote the glorious history of India.”
He said the the courts decisions should be made in a language that is understandable to all. ” Prayagraj was chosen as the best place for Law University and expressed his gratitude to the Chief Justice of the High Court and his team for providing the land,” he added.

UP Governor Anandiben Patel said that the foundation stone of the High Court building in Prayagraj is a good step.
” With this, there will be no delay in getting justice to the common people. This building will be equipped with modern technology facilities. Jurists, advocates, employees and litigants will all get the facility from this. (PTI)
In view of the changing population of the ancient building, there was a need for a new building, whose dream is being fulfilled today. The process of building construction should be completed as soon as possible and everyone can get the benefit of it,” she said.
On this occasion, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the foundation stone of those projects has been laid in Prayagraj, which the people of Prayagraj and Uttar Pradesh had desired for from a long time.
He said that there was a demand for High Court Parking and Law University for years.
” Under the guidance of PM, the UP government is making efforts to bring happiness in the lives of the people. Justice should be available to the common man,” CM said.
He said that 611 houses were sanctioned for Judges residences , 247 have been built and 364 are under construction.
CM said that today is the digital age and we all have to adopt digital hearing to provide justice to the common people.
” The High Court of Prayagraj is the largest high court in Asia, 24 crore people of UP come here to get justice. People have to face the problem of traffic jam here. There was a lot of cooperation from the court at the time of Kumbh.
Multi-level parking facility, lawyers’ chambers will be built. Its demand for years has been fulfilled today. For years there was a demand for a law university. It will commence from next session,” he said.
He said Dr Rajendra Prasad was related to Prayagraj. There are memories of Dr. Rajendra Prasad in every Kumbh and hence the new Law University should be dedicated to Rajendra Prasad.
Earlier, the President unveiled an oil painting of Senior High Court Advocate AB Saran. During this, the Chief Justice along with other dignitaries were present. The President reached the venue of the High Court from the Circuit House.
The President was also accorded a grand welcome at Bamrauli Airport on his arrival. Apart from the army officers, he was received by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Prayagraj Mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi.
