JAMMU, June 10: Castigating PDP-BJP coalition for weakening traditional amity and regional harmony, former Minister and PCC vice president Raman Bhalla accused the two parties of playing to galleries to conceal their inherent contradictions.
Addressing public meeting at Trikuta Nagar in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Mr Bhalla said PDP and BJP are creating hype and plunging the State into uncalled for controversies over issues which are no way connected either with governance or the much touted development.
The Congress leader said that a huge responsibility is upon the Congress to safeguard public interest and to fight for just cause of the people who have been left in lurch by the Coalition Government. He described the performance of the Government so far as poor and dismal.
Accusing Coalition Government of mishandling the situations he said people in all the three regions are suffering and confronted with multiple problems due to misrule and mishandling of the situations by the present dispensation. Lashing out at PDP- BJP Coalition for its failure on all fronts, former Minister expressed his serious concern over the chaotic situation created due to wrong policies of two parties with two different agendas, moving in different directions.
Mr Bhalla said the Government needed to resolve people’s grievances on a “fast-track basis” with the use of modern technology and develop systems for effective monitoring and resolution of issues. He emphasized to leverage modern technology and develop systems and processes for effective monitoring and resolution of issues which are particularly brought to the notice of concerned authorities. He demanded Government to consider issues, especially those raised by the aggrieved people on priority.
The former Minister said that development has been pushed to back burner while public grievances were mounting unheard with each passing day. He said Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CAPD) outlets lacked sufficient supplies and utility services were craving for maintenance. The promise of 24×7 power supply has turned out to be a nightmare with unprecedented and unscheduled power cuts haunting the people of the State, he added.
