JAMMU, Dec 5: Reacting sharply to the BJP leadership’s repeated comments of “Congress Mukht Bharat”, Congress candidate from Jammu West, Surinder Singh Shingari, said that we people of India need ‘Poverty Free’ India but not ‘Opposition Free’ India.
Interacting with the people in Ward No 28 and 39 of the constituency during election campaign, Shingari said, “Does the proprietary of democracy allow a politician to dream elimination of opposition? It is the mentality of BJP which has reflected in the words of a Union Minister who called non BJP voters as ‘haramzade’.
He said that at the door step of 21st century we require a poverty free India but on the other side BJP leadership is talking about Congress free India. “Democracy is not the concentration of power in one hand. Rather it is de-concentration of power to strike a balance so that no one may go autocratic” he said.
“Congress talks about ‘Garibi Mukt Bharat’ but PM is talking about ‘Congress Mukt Bharat’ just because it may only benefit him politically and not the poor. This is their fear psychosis because they know, it is only Congress which has potential to check them politically” Shingari added.
Shingari said that BJP’s candidates are in waiting for central leaders because these candidates have no potential merit at their own to show. He said that he is contesting this election on the basis of faith and trust in the people of Jammu West and the other side is dependent on Delhi leaders.
He appealed the voters to cast their vote keeping in view their own experience about past performance of contesting candidates and their merit with respect to public life and service.
