JAMMU, Dec 28: All Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic Congress here today expressed concern over the alleged decades old prevailing adhocism in the Department of Indian System of Medicine despite separate directorate since last 31 years.
In a handout the Ayurvedic Congress stated that there has been no worthwhile expansion of the department and even today whole department is being managed on internal arrangement basis by withdrawing gazetted and non-gazetted staff from regularly sanctioned dispensaries situated in far flung areas of the State where there are hardly any other curative facilities available.
In the handout, Ayurvedic Congress General Secretary, Dr Kartar Singh stated that internal arrangement is leading to mismanagement of 25 AYUSH units functioning in various allopathic institutions, eight nodal officers in newly created districts, 60 Medical Officers posted in non-sanctioned dispensaries and Panchkarma and Kshar Sutra Units in Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu.
The Ayurvedic Congress also demanded sanctioning of necessary staff at various levels without any delay.
