Nearly 2000 Govt officials from all States/UTs to attend national conference in Katra in Nov

JAMMU, Oct 29: Over 2000 Government officers from across the country are expected to attend 25th National e-Governance Conference which will be held for two days on November 25 and 26 at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University at Kakryal in Katra town of Reasi district in Jammu region.
The Department of Administrative Reforms· & Public Grievances (DARPG) and Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), in association with the UT Government of Jammu and Kashmir is organizing the conference.
Some Central Government officers are also expected to attend the conference, official sources told the Excelsior.
The DARPG has been holding such conferences at different places across the country to brief officers on good governance, accountability and other factors. Similar conferences have already been held in Leh in the Union Territory of Ladakh, Srinagar in Kashmir division, North East, Shillong, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Mumbai etc and now it is being held in Jammu,
“The Department of Administration Reforms has taken new initiative in last few years to hold such conference at national level in different States/UTs to give exposure to the officers. The officers of Jammu and Kashmir will be among those attending the conference and they will get national level exposure,” Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said.
Sources said nearly 2000 officers from across the country are likely to attend two-day long conference.
The theme of this Conference is “Bringing Citizens, Industry and Government Closer”.
On valedictory session on November 26, the ‘Jammu Declaration’ on eGovernance will be adopted after intensive deliberations during the sessions held over two days.
The 25th NCeG is a platform for discussion on some of the latest technologies for· promoting e-Governance and sharing knowledge and insights on the themes identified for the Conference, which will be inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Minister of State for the Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Government of India.
The conference will be presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
The six sub-themes in plenary sessions will be on Digital Governance Across Whole-of the-Government; Digital Economy Strengthening Start-up Ecosystem· & Employment Generation; Modern Laws to Promote National Growth and to Secure Citizen’s Rights; Transparent and Real-time Grievance Management System; 21st Century Digital Infrastructure for Next-Generation Services and Security in Cyberspace; Shifting the Gear on Emerging Technologies from Exploration to Population Scale Solutions.
There will also be parallel breakout sessions where the awardees of National eGovernance Awards 2022 from Centre, State and District will showcase their award· winning entries.
These sessions will be on the themes: The role of e-Governance in bridging the digital Divide: Digital Governance for enhancing Ease of Doing Business and Ease of living; Next Generation Service Delivery Platform – Inclusive, Transformative, and Sustainable; and Digital Transformation in Jammu & Kashmir.
An Exhibition including a Wall of Fame will also be organized during the event to showcase· India’s achievements in the field of e-Governance.
To recognize the implementation of e-Governance initiatives, 18 awards will be presented· during the inaugural session under 5 categories to Central Ministries, State/UT Governments, Districts, Local Bodies, PSUs and Academic & Research Institutions.
The awards include 9 Gold and 9 Silver Awards. The 25th NCeG will provide a platform for the delegates, including senior Government· officers from across the country, industry stalwarts and researcher to share best practices, latest technology developments, thus leveraging them for achieving effective governance and public service delivery.
The focus of all the sessions will be on learning by experience sharing effective eGovernance tools for benefits of the citizen and achieve Prime Minister Narendra· Modi’s vision of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has set up Central Coordination Committee, Transport Committee, Accommodation Committee, Event Management Committee, Media Coverage Committee, Souvenir Committee etc for the national conference.
