JAMMU, Mar 25: Nami Dogri Sanstha organised a Dogri poetic meet, exclusively on Maa Shakti wherein devotional poems were presented and recited by various Dogri poets.
The poetic meet was presided over by Ramesh Sharma, General Secretary Brahaman Sabha whereas Subhash Shastri, noted trade union leader, was chief guest on the occasion . Prof Ashok Gupta was special guest and B S Jamwal (former Dy Commissioner) was guest of honour. Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President NDS, also shared the dais.
Yash Pal Yash, General Secretary NDS, conducted the programme while touching various dimensions of Maa Shakti . The poets, who participated, included Dr Sushil Bhola, Sunaina Kaila Anand, Chaman Sagoch, Usha Kiran “Kiran” , Capt Lalit Sharma, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Yash Pal Yash and Shambu Ram “Pyasa”.
Capt Lalit Sharma, in his opening remarks, said that our traditional way of celebrating Navratras needs to be restored where our children, especially the young girls, were playing a vital role in the celebrations.
Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila sought blessings of Maa Shakti for NDS. Prof Ashok Gupta critically analyzed and evaluated each and every poetic item read in the meet . He appreciated the imitative taken by NDS in organising poetic meet exclusively on Maa Shakti on the occasion of Navratras which is a unique effort.
B S Jamwal said that Dogras celebrate Navratras with fervour and devotion and the Shakti Dhams spread over length and breadth of Duggar are testimony to this .
Subhash Shastri said that Maa Vaishno always showers her blessings on Duggar and it is a matter of privilege for Dogras that people from entire country and also devotees from abroad come to Katra Vaishno Devi to pay their obeisance.
Ramesh Sharma, in his presidential address, appreciated the poetic way of worshiping Maa Shakti. He also appreciated the tireless literary endeavours of NDS. Dr Susheel Bhola extended vote of thanks.
