JAMMU, Dec 30: Nami Dogri Sanstha held a special interactive session to commemorate its 22nd Foundation Day wherein all the office bearers and executive members participated.
As elaborate celebrations were restricted in view of ongoing pandemic, NDS celebrated the occasion by organizing a meeting to review its working in the last 22 years. The meeting was chaired by NDS President Advocate Harish Kaila.
Yash Pal Yash, General Secretary NDS, observed that Dogri language and its culture has many dimensions and it goes to the credit of Dogri that more and more well meaning literary organisations work for the mother tongue for her promotion and propagation.
Capt Lalit Sharma, Convener NDS, while expressing satisfaction on the activities of NDS over last 21 years, said that a lot more needs to be done. The working of the organisation needs to be brought fully on digital platform and the NDS will soon have its separate website in this regard, he added.
Prof Anupama Sharma, Patron Youth Wing NDS, said that NDS has successfully provided a platform all along to the young and budding writers and artists and their grooming has established them in their respective fields by channeling and boosting their talent.
Ramesh Rahi, the Founder Member, emphasised upon creating and strengthening the NDS branches all over the Duggar.
Advocate Nidhi Kaila, President Youth Wing of NDS, said that the organisation should endeavour to get Dogri language employed as compulsory subject in schools up to 8th standard in line with recent National Education Police where emphasis is on mother tongue.
It was unanimously resolved to formulate a comprehensive plan for NDS to work with wider objectives to make Dogri a mass movement.
