JAMMU, Mar 14: The National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) J&K Chief, Rajesh Gupta, has demanded the early restoration of Statehood and Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, Gupta criticized the steps taken in 2019, which he said had worsened the situation in the region, leading to a complete governance deficit.
He added that serious issues such as unemployment, property tax, recruitment scams, and the eviction drive were depriving people of their basic rights.
Gupta also accused the J&K Administration of failing to address these issues, despite being brought to their notice.
He criticized the Central Government for downgrading the historical State and snatching rights to land, jobs, and trade and business opportunities from locals.
The NDPI leader expressed his strong opposition to the dismantling of the 200-year-old historical State of J&K and its downgrading to a Union Territory. He said that this move had lowered the morale of the people and caused huge disenchantment among the masses.
He demanded early restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir by electing a people-friendly Government.
