NDPI demands relief package for industry, tourism sector

JAMMU, June 15: National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) has demanded special relief package for the revival of industry and tourism sector in J&K.
In a handout NDPI J&K President, Rajesh Gupta said that authorities should waive off electricity, water and municipal charges for industry and tourism sector for at least one year since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
Gupta claimed that industry, trade and commerce in J&K is facing biggest economic challenge post August 5, 2019 developments which was further worsened by the lockdown triggered by COVID-19 pandemic.
He said that hoteliers, travel agents, shawl vendors, those dealing with handicrafts, dry fruits etc have suffered a lot these days.
NDPI leader also claimed that a large section of the society is not getting benefits of government schemes like subsidized food grains, medical facilities etc.
